Thank You for the Birds

Happy Hump Day!

Today I would like to share with you a card I had originally made for a previous challenge, but then felt compelled to make a completely different card. However I do love everything about this card, from the color to the sentiment, it just *happily* screams KRISTEN! :p

Not only do I love island indigo, but I also love the 2012-2014 in colors. I can tell you, I will be using these in colors long after they leave stampin up’s catalog! I also had to buy the in color clearance DSP recently… not to mention that the DSP used for this card is also clearance …. haha, anyone see a trend here?!!? (I LOVE a good sale!) But not everything on this card is just old hat… can you see the sale a bration influence on this card?? The banner in summer starfruit is embossed with the decretive dots embossing folder!

Bright flowers for a Grey Day

Hello!

I hope every one has enjoyed going back to work.. except for those snowed in up north.. Baby its COLD outside!

Instead of focusing on that, I wanted to share a card I recently made with some of Stampin’ up’s beautiful card stock and an old stamp I bought before I started using stampin up products…. As much as I enjoy this flower stamp, its SO nice to just buy things from one site… Stampin up really takes so much of the guessing work out of card making with the stamp sets and stamp/punch or stamp/framelet bundles! And, just this evening I received my most recent shipment from Stampin up!! So be prepared to start seeing more cards from the current Occasions catalog!! (the new stamps look even better in person than in the magazine!)

I hope this bright cards makes your day just little happier during this harsh winter storm! And the first Fusion challenge is an excellent place to show it off! I could totally see a picture just like this stamp in the beautiful room on the fusion website!

First day of Occasions Ordering and Mojo 326

Hi Friends!

Today my card displays my favorite stamp set from the occasions catalog called Peaceful petals! I love this card, and hope you will too! This flower is just one of five stamps in the set along with 2 sediments. I couldn’t quite find the right DSP to use for the vertical strip, so I just made one out of the leaf stamp, also from this set! The vertical leaf montage is super easy and I love the way it looks! I’m going to have to create another card with the same montage. Something else I did differently was that I used paper that was more saturated than the ink I used for the stamps. For example, the flower was painted using the aqua painters with Daffodil Delight but the card stalk is summer starfruit. The same goes with greens; pear pizazz and old olive. I hadn’t set out to do this, but in my opinion, it just gave the card more of an earthy look. To keep the earthy look I used Crumb cake as the card base.

Since today is the first day to order items out of the occasions catalog (Click here to see the new occasions products! ) I’ll send anyone who would like to buy items from me a free catalog!

Now the card and Mojo’s sketch:

Mojo Monday 325

Hello again!
Ok, so I plan on only posting Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. However, I really wanted to enter this card in the Mojo Monday challenge, so this post is early. Unless your new to card making or living under a rock, you know that Sale-a-bration is coming up at the end of January. As a demonstrator, I get all the goodies early (yay!). I have to admit, when I first got the DSP and the petal paradise set, I wasn’t sure about them. However, after playing around with it some, I really like the abstract modern look of the designs and coordinating colors.

This card reminds me a little of a Jersey girl or a pre-teen, but I really like it! Its also quite different from the other Mojo Monday entrees.

PPA 185

Hello!
Welcome to my new blog, Where I will be posting the cards I make on a regular basis. I hope everyone is enjoying their holiday! If you’re like me, now its time to start sending out thank you cards for all those great gifts! I knew when I saw this week’s paper pals challenge, that I had to make a card for it! This card features a stamp and DSP from the Sale-a-bration catalog coming out at the beginning of February. I had originally set out to add a much larger piece of DSP, however, I love the eye catching look of the thick boarder, so I just added the sentiment to the left hand side. I also love the falling look of the sentiment created by the off set squares!

This week I’ll be posting thank you cards. This one is going to my sister and her husband in Boston!
