Bright flowers for a Grey Day

I hope every one has enjoyed going back to work.. except for those snowed in up north.. Baby its COLD outside!

Instead of focusing on that, I wanted to share a card I recently made with some of Stampin’ up’s beautiful card stock and an old stamp I bought before I started using stampin up products…. As much as I enjoy this flower stamp, its SO nice to just buy things from one site… Stampin up really takes so much of the guessing work out of card making with the stamp sets and stamp/punch or stamp/framelet bundles! And, just this evening I received my most recent shipment from Stampin up!! So be prepared to start seeing more cards from the current Occasions catalog!! (the new stamps look even better in person than in the magazine!)

I hope this bright cards makes your day just little happier during this harsh winter storm! And the first Fusion challenge is an excellent place to show it off! I could totally see a picture just like this stamp in the beautiful room on the fusion website!

First day of Occasions Ordering and Mojo 326

Hi Friends!

Today my card displays my favorite stamp set from the occasions catalog called Peaceful petals! I love this card, and hope you will too! This flower is just one of five stamps in the set along with 2 sediments. I couldn’t quite find the right DSP to use for the vertical strip, so I just made one out of the leaf stamp, also from this set! The vertical leaf montage is super easy and I love the way it looks! I’m going to have to create another card with the same montage. Something else I did differently was that I used paper that was more saturated than the ink I used for the stamps. For example, the flower was painted using the aqua painters with Daffodil Delight but the card stalk is summer starfruit. The same goes with greens; pear pizazz and old olive. I hadn’t set out to do this, but in my opinion, it just gave the card more of an earthy look. To keep the earthy look I used Crumb cake as the card base.

Since today is the first day to order items out of the occasions catalog (Click here to see the new occasions products! ) I’ll send anyone who would like to buy items from me a free catalog!

Now the card and Mojo’s sketch:
